AYURVEDIC TREATMENT for CYSTITIS
Cystitis is the medical name given to an inflammation of the bladder that affects up to 40% of women. The feeling that you need to urinate more often and suffering from uncomfortable or even painful urination are two of the main symptoms that indicate you may be suffering from cystitis. Urinary tract infections involve difficult, frequent or burning urination, sometimes with pain, bleeding or pus in the urine. The infection of the urinary tract may be confined to the urethra, prostate or urinary bladder. In such cases, features of systemic illness are rarely seen and the symptoms are those like that of dysuria. Ayurveda refers to such conditions as mootrakruchhra which means dysuria.

  • Ongoing Use of a Catheter
  • Irritating Hygiene Products
Symptoms
  • Frequent Urge to Urinate
  • Urge to Urinate after One has emptied bladder
  • Strong Smelling Urine
  • A low Fever If in Combination with a UTI
  • Blood in Urine
  • Pain During Sexual Intercourse
  • Sensations of Pressure or Bladder Fullness
  • Cramping in Abdomen or Back

According to Ayurveda, urine elimination is the role of apan vayu. So the disruption in apan vayu results in urination problems. There is a similar disease described in Ayurveda named as Mootrakruchha which has the various types.Yje imbalance of the three Doshas i.e Vata Dosha, Pitta Dosha and Kapha Dosha and which is responsible for the inflammation in pelvic region.

To manage the problem of cystitis, main emphasis is to clear the blockages in the urinary tract infections and elimination of infections from the body. There are various herbs present in Ayurveda which are packed with antimicrobial activities, disinfectant properties and support healthy urinary system.
